IRDAI removes age bar for purchasing health insurance
The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has removed the age limit for purchasing health insurance policies, with effect from April 1. Earlier, there was an age limit of 65 years to buy new health insurance policies. IRDAI’s latest move is aimed at bringing in extended health benefits to the elderly. The IRDAI directive mandates health insurance providers to develop specialised policies catering to senior citizens, and to establish dedicated channels for addressing their claims and grievances. Companies are also encouraged to develop tailored products to meet specific age-related requirements, fostering a more inclusive healthcare ecosystem.
Election Commission orders re-polling in 11 Manipur booths on April 22
The Election Commission of India has declared void the polling conducted at 11 booths across five Assembly segments in Inner Manipur on Friday, with presiding officers reporting mob violence, gunfire and destroyed Electronic Voting Machines in some booths. The ECI has announced that a re-poll will be conducted at these booths between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on April 22, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Manipur said in a statement on Saturday night.

Zomato gets ₹11.82 crore tax demand notice
Online food delivery platform Zomato has received a tax demand and penalty order of ₹11.82 crore related to GST on export services provided to its subsidiaries located outside India from July 2017 to March 2021.
The order was passed by the Additional Commissioner, Central Goods and Services Tax, Gurugram, raising the GST demand of ₹5,90,94,889, with applicable interest (not quantified) and penalty of ₹5,90,94,889.
