Xavier School of Management - XAT 2025 Cutoffs
Xavier School of Management (XLRI) has announced the XAT 2025 cutoffs. In an initiative to promote gender diversity and ensure equitable opportunities for women in Indian business and management roles, XLRI has decided to lower the overall cutoffs for women candidates and those from underprivileged communities in both the Business Management (BM) and Human Resource Management (HRM) programs.
Business Management Program:
Male candidates: Required overall cutoff - 96 percentile
Women candidates: Required overall cutoff - 91 percentile
Human Resource Management Program:
Male applicants from engineering and technology backgrounds: Required overall cutoff - 95 percentile
Male applicants from non-engineering backgrounds: Required overall cutoff - 93 percentile
XLRI expects to interview approximately 4000–4500 candidates for the 2025–2026 admissions cycle.

Exam Format:
The XAT 2025 exam is divided into two parts:
Part 1: Main Exam
- Sections: 3 sections
- Total Questions: Approximately 75 questions
- Duration: 170 minutes
- Sectional Time Limits: No sectional time limits, allowing candidates to allocate their time across sections as they see fit.
Part 2: Additional Exam
- Total Questions: Approximately 20 questions
- Duration: 10 minutes
Total Exam Time: Overall Duration: 180 minutes
A Quick Overview:
Duration: 170 Minutes
Number of Questions: About 26
The VA&LR section will encompass critical & analytical reasoning, reading comprehensions (including poems & passages), vocabulary, basic English grammar, and other related exercises such as para jumbles and cloze tests.
Number of Questions: About 21
The DM section will present scenarios drawn from both personal and professional lives. Candidates will be required to apply critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and prioritization to make informed decisions.
Number of Questions: About 28
The questions in the QA section are primarily formulated around 10th standard Mathematics. Notably, the emphasis is on applicationoriented problems. The questions on DI are about clear interpretation, summarization and insightful analysis of the data.

Number of Questions: About 20
In the GK section, 08 questions will focus on static GK, while the remaining 12 will delve into current affairs.
General Knowledge (GK) Score: The score from the General Knowledge (GK) section will be exclusively utilized by XLRI Jamshedpur for its final selection process.
Analytical Essay Writing (AEW): This year, the Analytical Essay Writing (AEW) will be administered during the Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GD / PI) processes

Last year XAT Pattern 2024
XAT 2024 was a computer based test of 3 hrs & 10 Minutes
Typically, the XAT question paper consists of two-time bound parts. The details are as follows:
Part I
a) Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning (VA & LR)
b) Decision Making (DM)
c) Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation (QA & DI)
Part II
a) General Knowledge (GK)
b) Analytical Essay Writing (AEW)
The number of questions in the XAT typically fluctuates within a range of 100-105, offering a comprehensive assessment of your aptitude. Each section will typically contain between 22 to 30 questions. The total number of questions will not exceed 100, including those focused on General Knowledge.
Please NOTE the General Knowledge and Essay sections will not influence the cutoff score. Their evaluation will come into play only during the interview stage. So, while they are essential for the overall process, they will not affect your initial test results.
Note:
1. There will be only overall time limits, there are no sectional time limits.
2. The candidates will not be given access to on screen calculator
3. The candidates can choose any sections to begin with.
4. The candidates can switch between section to begin with.
5. All three sections will be open to the candidate once the exam starts.
6. Test timing - 2 P.M. to 5:10 P.M.
7. All questions are of MCQ type
8. GK section not counted for percentile calculation
9. ¼ Negative Marking for wrong answer
10. Marks for every correct answer : 1
11. No Negative marking for General Knowledge section in part-2
12. All the MCQ type questions have five options with one correct option
